Coffee #1 - Wellfield Road

Welcome to Coffee #1 - Wellfield Road, a delightful gem nestled on 43 Wellfield Road, Cardiff. Renowned for its inviting atmosphere and spacious seating arrangements divided over two floors, this café beckons coffee lovers and food enthusiasts alike looking for a cozy spot to unwind.

As you step inside, you are greeted by a tranquil conservatory that bathes in natural light, making it an ideal backdrop for your morning brew or afternoon respite. The café also features a small patio, perfect for sunny days when you can enjoy your coffee al fresco. With family-friendly amenities such as accessible toilets and a plethora of high chairs, it seems to cater well to both parents and little ones.

However, it's worth noting that experiences can vary. Recent customer reviews highlight mixed feelings about their visits. For instance, Iulia Condurache mentioned a burnt taste in the coffee, yet praised the tasty toasties and cozy vibe, albeit with concerns over cleanliness. On the flip side, Neil MacLeod appreciated the spaciousness and light-filled environment, making it a pleasant space for social gatherings.

Now, let’s talk about the indulgent treats offered at Coffee #1. The standout is undoubtedly the Caramel Chouxnut, a delectable pastry filled with vanilla crème patisserie mousse, topped with a caramelized icing, crisp caramelized biscuit pieces, and rich dark chocolate. At 388 kcal for a single serving, this dessert is a delightful way to satisfy your sweet tooth without overwhelming your daily caloric intake.

Moreover, the café typically offers a range of beverages, including the popular chai latte, customizable with options like coconut or dairy milk, making it accommodating to various dietary preferences.

While my experience was somewhat overshadowed by the mixed reviews, the ambiance and unique offerings at Coffee #1 - Wellfield Road make it a potential candidate for your next coffee outing. Just be prepared to manage some of the inconsistencies that have been reported. After all, every café has its ups and downs, and this one might surprise you!

I didn’t enjoy the coffee at all; it had a burnt taste. However, the toastie was tasty. The place has a cozy atmosphere, but it’s very dirty. When I went to the bathroom at am, it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a week, and it was pretty clear that it hadn’t been cleaned in a while since it was so dirty, with old marks and dried stains, mold, scum, so early in the day. It was really gross. Even though there are two hand sanitizer stations, there was no sanitizer available. In a place that serves food, the cleanliness is really important, and this cleanliness level says a lot about the place. It’s quite disappointing.

This is a nice branch of Coffee with lots of seating over two floors and a conservatory to the rear that's beautifully light, if a little warm. This branch also has a small patio with four tables that are great for sunny days and less likely to be fully of people smoking than the Albany Road branch. It's very family friendly with an accessible ground floor toilet and lots of high chairs available which are taken full advantage of by the local clientèle.If you're looking to work somewhere outside your office for a couple of hours it's a pretty good option with a relaxed feel and a reasonable number of power outlets dotted around, although these are easier to find in the conservatory than the rest of the downstairs area. The only downside to this branch is that it's beginning to show its age a little and could do with some touching up to the decor. All in all if you're looking for a pleasant place to relax at the weekend and read a book you can do a lot worse than here.

My friend and I both had chai latte. I had it with coconut milk, my friend had it with dairy milk. I had the raspberry and almond tart, my friend had white chocolate roulade. It cost £. Quick service, was busy at the time too about pm.Dietary restrictions: Coconut or soya milk I think, didn't look at vegan or veggie options but sure some available
